ISM Code Audit

Nowadays in the world, according to statistics, more than 80% marine casualties are related to human factors. To realize the control of human factors as well as promote maritime safety and prevent marine pollution, advanced management concept shall be introduced into shipping management and an effective documented system shall be established to reinforce management responsibilities of shipping company, emphasize on risk management and system management and carry out “process control” to safety and pollution prevention actions. Thereby, International Maritime Organization (IMO) developed International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code).

Scope of application for ISM

The following ships engaged on international voyages:
Passenger ships including high speed passenger craft;
Oil tankers, chemical tankers, gas carriers, bulk carriers and high-speed cargo ships of 500 gross tonnage and above;
Other cargo ships of 500 gross tonnage and above, mobile offshore drilling units.
Ships not applicable to ISM Code may refer to ISM Code to implement safety management system and apply for voluntary certificate.


Category of certification

Certification of Company Document of Compliance (DOC)

ISClass has obtained authorization from several Administrations to carry out audit to company managing ships entitled to fly their flags and issue or endorse Document of Compliance (DOC) according to ISM Code.

Certification of Ship Safety Management Certificate (SMC)

ISClass has obtained authorization from several Administrations to carry out audit to ships entitled to fly their flags and issue or endorse Ship Safety Management Certificate (SMC) according to ISM Code.
